Securing the water catchment area of the Marta River and the Scolo dei Giardini ditch
Interventions on the Marta river
• 2 solutions proposed for expansion tanks:
1) in derivation, with 2 boxes of Vtot equal to 13.0 Mm3, bounded by raised embankments in the ground and with respective works of taking and returning;
2) in line (dams) with embankment in the ground L = 850 m interrupted by a work of regulation (overflow length = 232 m, 2 lights 7.75 x 9.40 m manned by flat gates);
• embankments: raising of the embankment section of about 1,40 m by 2,300 m of length, construction of a new embankment with an average height of 1,20 m by 700 m and strengthening of a cliff defense L = 800 m.
Works on the Scolo dei Giardini ditch
• construction of a diversion that intercepts the Scolo dei Giardini ditch immediately downstream of the via Litoranea SP45
(trapezoidal section with greater base = 20 m and h = 4 m);
• adjustment of the section of the entire ditch with covering in Reno type mattresses;
Road and rail crossings (Rome-Pisa railway crossing, consisting of 3 lights daB = 10.0 meh = 3.3 m, crossing SP44 from 13.0 x 4.0 m, crossing SP45 with 2 lights daB = 10.0 meh = 4.5 m).
